Rally Mexico Preview 2007.
Source of Picture.Marcus Gronholm will be hoping to extend his points lead on his teammate Mikko Hirvonen but will also want to increase the gap between himself and rival Sebastian Loeb. Hirvonen will be looking forward to the challenge in Mexico and is hoping to get some solid points for him to maintain his position in the driver’s standings. BP Ford World Rally Team is hoping to maintain their lead in the manufacturers championship.
Source of Picture.Dani Sordo after making a disappointing start to the new season is expected to bring good results in after coming fourth in this rally last year. If Citroen have any chance of catching up with Ford in the manufacturers championship then Sordo will really have to step up the pace.
Source of Picture.Henning Solberg came fifth last year in this rally but is hoping to continue his good form from Rally Norway last month where he finished third and made it on to the podium. Although Chris Atkinson came 17th in Norway he is expected to get in the top ten for Mexico in the new Subaru and don’t forget he is a wizard on gravel rallies.
The new Munchi's Ford World Rally Team have yet to score manufacture points but they have a wide range of experience with the conditions and will use their experience to get as close as they can to the leaders. Gareth MacHale will return to rally Mexico in a new car Gronholm’s winning Focus from 2006. Gareth is hopeful to score points but also to keep and eye on his father Austin who will also be competing but in a Focus RS 03.
